I graduated from Skidmore College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art. In the summer of 2012, I participated in a collaborative tapestry weaving project. The finished tapestry was auctioned off to benefit the Foster Sheep Farm in upstate New York.I moved to Boston after graduating and spent the following few years broadening my understanding of various mediums by taking courses at MassArt. I started to dabble in zines, among them a zine about my experience at a queer friendly contra dance camp to promote voting, and another exploring patterns in a meditative manner.
With the time that I had during 2020, I came back to textiles, specifically tapestry weaving, and dove headfirst into a world of textures and colors. I’ve loved being able to experiment with unexpected texture and color combinations and translating yarn into landscapes. I love how much there is left for me to learn and explore and play with in textile art, and I’m excited to create larger pieces.
