MASSART AUCTION

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m also very excited that I have had a piece selected to be in the MASSART exhibit and auction this April!  Proceeds of the auction go to student scholarships and programs.  A few weeks before the auction all the art will be available for online bidding at Paddle8.

Join us for Auction 2020!

TheMassArt Auctionis another year older and another year stronger. Last year, Massachusetts College of Art and Design celebrated the 30th Anniversary MassArt Auction. Join us for the 31st MassArt Auction on Saturday, April 25 and be a part of a highly anticipated Boston tradition.

The proceeds of this spectacular night, featuring a live and silent auction, cocktails, delicious food, fabulous music, and more, provide vital scholarship aid and academic program support for our deserving students. MassArt is the nation’s only independent public college of art and design and is dedicated to providing an exceptional and affordable education for the next generation of artists and designers.

Your support allows us to shine light on this next generation of artists and designers, like Hazel Afamefuna ’21. Hazel is an architectural design major and one of the many students who have benefited from scholarship support.

We need joy as we need air
We need love as we need water
We need each other as we need the earth we share.

Maya Angelou

Artist and Guest Curator Anne Plaisance has assembled a group of artists who are working with what she calls, “their vision of the day after tomorrow.” Responding to contemporary issues and citing research reports from both the United Nations and Harvard University on looming problems like climate change, rising sea levels and extreme weather, Plaisance believes artists can focus on leaving the best legacy they possibly can, through art and culture for whatever comes next. She says:
This exhibition is a requiem for humanity, an homage to creativity and beauty, a chapeau bas to love and generosity, an adieu to memories, a last embrace of our cherished ones. Artists in the exhibition include; Susan Denniston, Ashley M. Freeby, Kelly Knight, Sarah Pettitt, Anne Plaisance, Stephanie Todhunter and Robin Whiteman.

*So excited to be a part of this as well!  More info to follow…
