June 19–August 21, 2016: Submissions Accepted NOW
Emerging and established artists in all media are invited to submit work to the highly anticipated Danforth Art Annual: 2016 Juried Exhibition (formerly Off the Wall and Community of Artists). This exhibition will feature some of the top artistic talent in New England in a showcase of diverse styles and remarkable skills. This exhibition also provides exposure for artists in all media for curatorial consideration for future exhibitions at Danforth Art and beyond.
Danforth Art Curator Jessica Roscio will serve as Juror for the Danforth Art Annual this year. Roscio has curated several celebrated exhibitions at Danforth Art including this year’s The Memory Palace: Domesticity, Objects, and the Interior and Beautiful Decay, as well as exhibitions of contemporary photographers and the exhibition Barbara Swan: Reflected Self.

New this year! The Prilla Smith Brackett Prize: The Prilla Smith Brackett Prize will be awarded to a female artist with demonstrated excellence in a body of artistic work, who has never before been recognized with a solo museum exhibition, and who has had one or more works selected for inclusion in the Danforth Art Annual: 2016 Juried Exhibition. (Only those female artists whose works are selected for the Danforth Art Annual will be eligible for The Prilla Smith Brackett Prize.) Danforth Art will narrow selections first to three finalists in early August before the close of the exhibition. After further review of more complete bodies of their work, the inaugural prize winner will be announced in the fall. The prize-winning artist will receive their first solo museum exhibition at Danforth Art in spring 2017. The Prilla Smith Brackett Prize was established in 2016 through an endowment from visual artist Prilla Smith Brackett of Boston, Massachusetts.
