We went for a walk yesterday and discovered Michael Paul Smith working down at the field on the end of Jerome Street. We knew immediately who he was because we saw an exhibit on him at the Peabody Essex Museum recently (and I saw his work on thisiscolossal and other art websites). He was extremely friendly and talked at great length about his work and even gave us a copy of one of his books (autographed)! We were practically giddy with excitement (and he was very patient with us)…
His work is amazing- you can see it on his flickr page and at his website Visit Elgin Park.
He also has a new book out Elgin Park: Visual Memories of Midcentury America at 1/24th scale.
