The 2014 season was a roaring success! Thank you! Here are two exciting highlights:
Your dedication to local food and community helped our vendors increase sales by over 5% from last year, which means you ate more healthy food and they are able to keep on producing! What a difference you made! Maybe you are the reason there are 60,000 people in Medford and no MacDonalds!
Thank you to our EBT users, in particular, who increased their use of our EBT matching program by over 10% this year. Woot woot! That is GREAT news!
And to our hard working, generous, and kind vendors: you make our world go round. Thank you!
All of you who came for apple sampling, apple bobbing, apple baking, and apple love made Apple Fest better than ever this year, too. Congratulations to Tanya Howard for winning the Cook-Off and to all the other awesome entrants who made delicious apple goods for our esteemed judges to taste.
On a sad note, we say a fond farewell to two board members: Susan Fairchild and Heather Sauceda Hannon. Both were pivotal in making the Medford Farmers Market thrive. We look forward to seeing them at the market and will miss them dearly on the Board of Directors. Thank you Susan and Heather!
This winter you can look forward to a three-part film series we will host and occasional newsletters full of recipes and local food news.
Fruitfully yours and in thanks,
The Farmers Market Board
