Green Line Art opportunity!

The Green Line Extension (GLX) project is pleased to announce that MassDOT & the MBTA have released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the purpose of commissioning multiple artists to design an integral art program for the GLX stations.

Designs for the first three stations to be constructed, Lechmere, Union, and Washington Street, are currently at approximately 60% design, and will be 90% complete by Summer 2014. Artist selection will be made for these three stations initially, and may include elements that will be common to all stations. It is anticipated that a second artist selection process will take place for the remaining four stations at a later date.

More information about the GLX Art Program and the RFQ can be found on the GLX website here: http://greenlineextension.eot.state.ma.us/arts_Program.html.

Artists are strongly encouraged to participate in the prequalification/information session prior to the application deadline. This session will take place on February 6, 2014 at 5 PM and will be held at the GLX Project Office (100 Summer Street, Suite 250, Boston, MA).

Submissions must be received using the online platform by Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 12:00 PM (Noon).

As always, thank you for your interest in and support of the Green Line Extension project.
