I was in Washington DC a week ago (missed the derecho but got caught up in a microblast, which was like a tornado but tiny, and which wiped out many huge trees and all the power in the little community I was staying in). To find AC, my friends and I went to all the art museums in the District, among them the Renwick Gallery of the American Craft Museum (part of the Smithsonian complex). GREAT place, put it on your list to visit.
This was my favorite piece of the weekend. It’s called “Game Fish”. It’s a large mosaic (about the size of a real gamefish, maybe 4′ long), by Robert Bradford. It’s entirely made of game pieces. Great fun, great pun, great execution.
I love this mosaic! And excellent job with the post…
